At-Tawba
This is a translation of Tafsīr as-Saʿdī as IslamHouse.com publishes it at saadi.islamenc.com, read from that site’s pages. The site does not say who translated it or which printed edition it follows, and states no terms for taking its text, so the right to show it is not verified. Nobody has compared it with a printed book, and no scholar has reviewed it. Each passage stands beside the verses it comments on, which are the Qur’ān text of Tanzil, shown as it is there; a verse the site gives no commentary of its own stands with the passage before it, and the index names each such verse. وَلَا تُعْجِبْكَ أَمْوَٰلُهُمْ وَأَوْلَـٰدُهُمْ ۚ إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ أَن يُعَذِّبَهُم بِهَا فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَتَزْهَقَ أَنفُسُهُمْ وَهُمْ كَـٰفِرُونَ 85
{85} Yaani, usidanganyike na yale aliyowapa Mwenyezi Mungu katika dunia hii miongoni mwa mali na watoto. Kwa maana hilo siyo kwa sababu ya utukufu wao kwake, bali huko ni kuwadunisha kwake. "Mwenyezi Mungu anataka kuwaadhibu kwazo katika dunia hii," kwa kutaabika katika kuipata, na kuhofu kutoweka kwake, wala hawaifurahii, bali hawataacha kupata taabu na dhiki kwa sababu yake, na itawashughulisha kando na Mwenyezi Mungu na Nyumba ya Akhera mpaka waondoke katika dunia, "na nafsi zao zitoke hali ya kuwa ni makafiri;" kwa sababu mapenzi yao juu yake yaliwanyang'anya yakawatoa kwa kila kitu. Kwa hivyo wakafa hali ya kuwa nyoyo zao zimefungamana nazo, na nyoyo zao zimechomeka kwa sababu yake.
