جامع البيان في تأويل آي القرآنThis is the Arabic text of a classical tafsīr as the Quranic Universal Library (QUL, by Tarteel) has it, taken through the open copy of QUL’s data that spa5k/tafsir_api keeps. QUL does not say which printed edition it follows and states no licence for the texts, so the right to show them is not verified. Nobody has compared it with a printed book or a manuscript, and no scholar has reviewed it. Each passage stands beside the verses it comments on, which are the Qur’ān text of Tanzil, shown as it is there. Where the text carries a note of an editor’s, in double brackets, it is shown as it stands. There is no translation yet.

وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًا ۖ فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ 84
القول في تأويل قوله: ﴿وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ مَطَرًا فَانْظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُجْرِمِينَ (٨٤) ﴾
قال أبو جعفر: يقول تعالى ذكره: وأمطرنا على قوم لوط الذين كذبوا لوطًا ولم يؤمنوا به، مطرًا من حجارة من سجّيل أهلكناهم به= ﴿فانظر كيف كان عاقبه المجرمين﴾ ، يقول جل ثناؤه: فانظر، يا محمد، إلى عاقبة هؤلاء الذين كذبوا الله ورسوله من قوم لوط، فاجترموا معاصيَ الله، وركبوا الفواحش، واستحلوا ما حرم الله من أدبار الرجال، كيف كانت؟ وإلى أي شيء صارت؟ هل كانت إلا البوار والهلاك؟ فإن ذلك أو نظيرَه من العقوبة، عاقبةُ من كذَّبك واستكبر عن الإيمان بالله وتصديقك إن لم يتوبوا، من قومك.
