جامع البيان في تأويل آي القرآنThis is the Arabic text of a classical tafsīr as the Quranic Universal Library (QUL, by Tarteel) has it, taken through the open copy of QUL’s data that spa5k/tafsir_api keeps. QUL does not say which printed edition it follows and states no licence for the texts, so the right to show them is not verified. Nobody has compared it with a printed book or a manuscript, and no scholar has reviewed it. Each passage stands beside the verses it comments on, which are the Qur’ān text of Tanzil, shown as it is there. Where the text carries a note of an editor’s, in double brackets, it is shown as it stands. There is no translation yet.

وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ لِيُهْلِكَ ٱلْقُرَىٰ بِظُلْمٍ وَأَهْلُهَا مُصْلِحُونَ 117
القول في تأويل قوله تعالى: ﴿وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ لِيُهْلِكَ الْقُرَى بِظُلْمٍ وَأَهْلُهَا مُصْلِحُونَ (١١٧) ﴾
قال أبو جعفر: يقول تعالى ذكره: وما كان ربك، يا محمد، ليهلك القرى، التي أهلكها، التي قَصَّ عليك نبأها، ظُلمًا وأهلها مصلحون في أعمالهم، غير مسيئين، فيكون إهلاكه إياهم مع إصلاحهم في أعمالهم وطاعتهم ربّهم، ظلمًا، ولكنه أهلكها بكفر أهلها بالله وتماديهم في غيِّهم، وتكذيبهم رُسُلهم، وركوبهم السيئات.

وقد قيل: معنى ذلك: لم يكن ليهلكهم بشركهم بالله. وذلك قوله "بظلم" يعني: بشرك = ﴿وأهلها مصلحون﴾ ، فيما بينهم لا يتظالمون، ولكنهم يتعاطَون الحقّ بينهم، وإن كانوا مشركين، إنما يهلكهم إذا تظالموا.
