At-Tawba
This is a translation of Tafsīr as-Saʿdī as IslamHouse.com publishes it at saadi.islamenc.com, read from that site’s pages. يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِىُّ جَـٰهِدِ ٱلْكُفَّارَ وَٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَ وَٱغْلُظْ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ وَمَأْوَىٰهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ ۖ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمَصِيرُ 73
{73} Yeye Mtukufu anamwambia Nabii wake -rehema na amani zimshukie -: "Ewe Nabii! Pambana na makafiri na wanafiki." Yaani, tia juhudi kubwa katika kufanya jihadi dhidi yao, kuwawia mgumu ikiwa hali itahitaji ugumu juu yao. Na kufanya jihadi huku kunaingia ndani yake kufanya jihadi kwa mkono na kwa kufanya jihadi kwa hoja na ulimi. Kwa hivyo, mwenye kujitokeza miongoni mwao kupigana vita, yeye atapigwa vita kwa mkono, na ulimi, upanga na mkuki. Na yule atakayekuwa chini ya Uislamu kwa ahadi ya ulinzi au agano,basi yeye atafanyiwa jihadi kwa hoja na ushahidi, na atabainishiwa mazuri ya Uislamu na maovu ya ushirikina na ukafiri. Basi haya ndiyo waliyo nayo katika dunia hii, "na" ama katika Akhera, basi makazi yao ni "Jahannamu." Yaani, makazi yao ambayo hawatatoka humo, "na hapo ndipo pabaya zaidi pa kuishia."
