Al-Anfaal
This is a translation of Tafsīr as-Saʿdī as IslamHouse.com publishes it at saadi.islamenc.com, read from that site’s pages. وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّمَآ أَمْوَٰلُكُمْ وَأَوْلَـٰدُكُمْ فِتْنَةٌ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ عِندَهُۥٓ أَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ 28
{28} Na kwa vile mja anajaribiwa kwa mali zake na watoto wake, basi pengine mapenzi yake kwa hayo yakampelekea kutanguliza matamanio ya nafsi yake mbele ya kutekeleza amana yake, Mwenyezi Mungu Mtukufu akajulisha kuwa mali na watoto ni mtihani ambayo Mwenyezi Mungu anawaribu kwayo waja wake. Na kwamba hayo ni cha kuazima kitakachorudishwa kwa yule aliyekitoa na kitarudishwa kwa aliyekiweka ili kihifadhiwe. “Na kwamba Mwenyezi Mungu ana ujira mkubwa kwake.” Kwa hivyo, ikiwa nyinyi mna akili na maoni, Basi ipendeleeni fadhila yake kubwa zaidi kuliko starehe ndogo, ya kwisha na kudhoofika. Basi Mwenye akili hulinganisha baina ya vitu, na anapendelea kinachostahili chake zaidi na kinachostahiki zaidi kutangulizwa.
