Al-Qiyaama
This is a translation of Tafsīr as-Saʿdī as IslamHouse.com publishes it at saadi.islamenc.com, read from that site’s pages. بَلِ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِۦ بَصِيرَةٌ 14 وَلَوْ أَلْقَىٰ مَعَاذِيرَهُۥ 15
{14 - 15} "Bali mtu ni hoja juu ya nafsi yake." Yaani, ni shahidi na ataweza kujifanyia mahesabu ya matendo yake. "Na ingawa atatoa chungu ya udhuru." Kwani ni udhuru usiokubaliwa, bali atafanywa kukiri matendo yake, naye atayakiri. Kama alivyosema Mwenyezi Mungu Mtukufu: "Soma kitabu chako! Nafsi yako inakutosha leo kukuhisabu." Basi mja hata akikataa au akaleta udhuru juu ya yale aliyoyafanya, kukanusha kwake huko na kuleta kwake udhuru havitamfaa kitu chochote. Kwa sababu kusikia kwake, kuona kwake, na viungo vyake vyote vitashuhudia dhidi yake juu ya yale aliyokuwa akiyafanya, na kwa sababu wakati wake wa kuomba msamaha ulishapita, na hata manufaa yake yakaisha. "Basi Siku hiyo hautawafaa wale waliodhulumu udhuru wao, wala haitatakiwa toba yao."
