Al-A'raaf

وَقَطَّعْنَـٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أُمَمًا ۖ مِّنْهُمُ ٱلصَّـٰلِحُونَ وَمِنْهُمْ دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ ۖ وَبَلَوْنَـٰهُم بِٱلْحَسَنَـٰتِ وَٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ 168
{168} "Na tukawagawanya katika ardhi umma umma;" yaani, tuliwafarikisha na tukawatenganisha katika ardhi baada ya kwamba walikuwa pamoja. "Miongoni mwao kuna wale walio wema" wanasimamisha haki za Mwenyezi Mungu na haki za waja wake, "na miongoni mwao kuna walio kinyume cha hivyo." Yaani, kinyume na wema: ima walio wastani, na ima wanaozidhulumu nafsi zao. "Na tukawajaribu" kama desturi yetu na Sunnah zetu "kwa mazuri na mabaya." Yaani, kwa wepesi na ugumu, "huenda wakarejea" wakaacha yale wanayodumisha kutenda miongoni mwa maovu, na wayarejee yale waliyoumbwa kwa ajili yake miongoni mwa uwongofu. Basi hawakuacha kuwa kati ya wema, na muovu, wale wa wastani.
