This is a translation of Tafsīr as-Saʿdī as IslamHouse.com publishes it at saadi.islamenc.com, read from that site’s pages. The site does not say who translated it or which printed edition it follows, and states no terms for taking its text, so the right to show it is not verified. Nobody has compared it with a printed book, and no scholar has reviewed it. Each passage stands beside the verses it comments on, which are the Qur’ān text of Tanzil, shown as it is there; a verse the site gives no commentary of its own stands with the passage before it, and the index names each such verse. وَكَأَيِّن مِّن قَرْيَةٍ هِىَ أَشَدُّ قُوَّةً مِّن قَرْيَتِكَ ٱلَّتِىٓ أَخْرَجَتْكَ أَهْلَكْنَـٰهُمْ فَلَا نَاصِرَ لَهُمْ 13
{13} Yaani, ni miji mingapi miongoni mwa miji ya wale waliokadhibisha ilikuwa ni yenye nguvu zaidi kuliko mji wako kwa mali, watoto, wasaidizi, majengo na ala mbalimbali, tuliwaangamiza walipowakadhibisha Mitume wetu, na wala mawaidha hayakuwafaa kitu. Kwa hivyo hatukuwapata wakiwa na yeyote wa kuwanusuru, na wala nguvu zao hazikuwafaa chochote mbele ya adhabu ya Mwenyezi Mungu. Basi vipi hali ya hawa wanyonge wana kijiji chako walipokufukuza katika mji wako, wakakukadhibisha na wakakufanyia uadui, ilhali wewe ndiye mbora wa Mitume wote na mbora wa wa mwanzo na wa mwisho? Je, wao hawastahiki zaidi kuangamizwa na kuadhibiwa kuliko wengineo, lau kuwa Mwenyezi Mungu Mtukufu hakumtuma Mtume wake kwa rehema na kutokuwa na haraka juu ya kila kafiri na mwenye kukataa?
