As-Saaffaat
This is a translation of Tafsīr as-Saʿdī as IslamHouse.com publishes it at saadi.islamenc.com, read from that site’s pages. The site does not say who translated it or which printed edition it follows, and states no terms for taking its text, so the right to show it is not verified. إِنَّهُمْ أَلْفَوْا۟ ءَابَآءَهُمْ ضَآلِّينَ 69 فَهُمْ عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَـٰرِهِمْ يُهْرَعُونَ 70 وَلَقَدْ ضَلَّ قَبْلَهُمْ أَكْثَرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ 71 وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِم مُّنذِرِينَ 72 فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ 73
{69 - 73} Ni kana kwamba ilisemwa: Ni nini kilichowafikisha katika nyumba hii? Akasema: "Hakika waliwakuta baba zao wamepotea. Na wao wakafanya haraka kufuata nyayo zao." Na hawakuzingatia yale waliyowaitia Mitume, wala yale ambayo vitabu viliwaonya dhidi yake, wala maneno ya washauri. Bali waliyapinga hayo kwa kusema: Hakika sisi tuliwakuta baba zetu wanashika dini makhsusi, na sisi tunafuata nyayo zao. "Na bila ya shaka walikwisha potea kabla yao" hawa wanaoongeleshwa, "wengi wa watu wa zamani," na ni wachache tu miongoni mwao ndio walioongoka. "Na Sisi hakika tuliwatumia waonyaji" ili wawaonye juu ya kukengeuka kwao na upotovu wao. "Basi, hebu angalia ulikuwaje mwisho wa wale walioonywa." Mwisho wao ulikuwa maangamio, hizaya na fedheha. Basi na watahadhari watu hawa wasije wakaendelea katika upotofu wao, wakaja kupatwa na yale yale yaliyowapata hao.
