This is a translation of Tafsīr as-Saʿdī as IslamHouse.com publishes it at saadi.islamenc.com, read from that site’s pages. أَمْ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ سُلْطَـٰنًا فَهُوَ يَتَكَلَّمُ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يُشْرِكُونَ 35
{35} "Au tumewateremshia hoja" iliyo dhahiri. Basi hiyo" hoja "inazungumza juu ya kile walichokuwa wakishirikisha nacho?" Na inawaambia: Kuweni imara juu ya ushirikina wenu na endeleeni kuwa na shaka; kwani mliyo juu yake ndiyo Haki, na yale waliyowaitia Mitume ni batili. Basi je, wanayo hoja hiyo ambayo inawafanya kushikamana sawasawa na ushirikina? Ama ushahidi wa kiakili wote na wa kusikia, na vitabu vya mbinguni, na Mitume watukufu, na mabwana wa wanadamu, walikataza kabisa jambo hili, na wakatahadharisha juu ya kufuata njia zake zinazofikisha huko, na wakahukumu kuwa akili na dini ya mwenye kufanya hivyo ni mbovu? Basi ushirikina wa watu hawa hauna hoja yoyote wala uthibitisho, bali ni matamanio tu ya nafsi na uchochezi wa Shetani.
