Al-Anbiyaa
This is a translation of Tafsīr as-Saʿdī as IslamHouse.com publishes it at saadi.islamenc.com, read from that site’s pages. مَآ ءَامَنَتْ قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَـٰهَآ ۖ أَفَهُمْ يُؤْمِنُونَ 6
{6} Mwenyezi Mungu akasema, "Hawakuamini kabla yao watu wa mji wowote tuliouangamiza" kwa ishara hizi walizozipendekeza wao. Na desturi yake inahitaji kwamba yeyote atakayezitafuta, kisha akazipata, na asiamini, kwamba anamharakishia adhabu. Na wa mwanzo hawakuziamini, basi je hawa ndio wataziamini? Ni nini kilichowafanya wao kuwa bora kuliko wale? Na kuna heri gani ndani yao ambayo itawafanya waamini wakati zitakapopatikana? Na mbinu hii ya kuuliza swali ina maana ya kukanusha. Yaani, kamwe hilo haliwezekani kutoka kwao abadani.
