Al-Baqara
This is a translation of Tafsīr as-Saʿdī as IslamHouse.com publishes it at saadi.islamenc.com, read from that site’s pages. The site does not say who translated it or which printed edition it follows, and states no terms for taking its text, so the right to show it is not verified. Nobody has compared it with a printed book, and no scholar has reviewed it. Each passage stands beside the verses it comments on, which are the Qur’ān text of Tanzil, shown as it is there; a verse the site gives no commentary of its own stands with the passage before it, and the index names each such verse. وَإِذِ ٱسْتَسْقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِۦ فَقُلْنَا ٱضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَ ٱلْحَجَرَ ۖ فَٱنفَجَرَتْ مِنْهُ ٱثْنَتَا عَشْرَةَ عَيْنًا ۖ قَدْ عَلِمَ كُلُّ أُنَاسٍ مَّشْرَبَهُمْ ۖ كُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ مِن رِّزْقِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ 60
(60) "Istasqaa" yani (Musa) alipoomba maji ili wanywe kwayo "tulimwambia: Lipige jiwe kwa fimbo yako." Ima jiwe mahususi analolijua, au jiwe lolote lile "Mara zikatimbuka chemichemi kumi na mbili." Na makabila ya Wana wa Israili yalikuwa kumi na mawili. "Kila kabila" miongoni "likajua mahali pake pa kunywea," katika hizo chemichemi. Kwa hivyo, hawasongamani wao kwa wao, bali wanakunywa kwa furaha siyo kwa kukasirikiana. Na ndio kwa maana akasema: "Kuleni na mnywe katika riziki ya Mwenyezi Mungu." Yani ambayo amekupeni bila ya juhudi wala kutaabika "wala msiende katika ardhi," yani mkifanya uharibifu.
