Al-Baqara
This is a translation of Tafsīr as-Saʿdī as IslamHouse.com publishes it at saadi.islamenc.com, read from that site’s pages. The site does not say who translated it or which printed edition it follows, and states no terms for taking its text, so the right to show it is not verified. Nobody has compared it with a printed book, and no scholar has reviewed it. Each passage stands beside the verses it comments on, which are the Qur’ān text of Tanzil, shown as it is there; a verse the site gives no commentary of its own stands with the passage before it, and the index names each such verse. قَالَ يَـٰٓـَٔادَمُ أَنۢبِئْهُم بِأَسْمَآئِهِمْ ۖ فَلَمَّآ أَنۢبَأَهُم بِأَسْمَآئِهِمْ قَالَ أَلَمْ أَقُل لَّكُمْ إِنِّىٓ أَعْلَمُ غَيْبَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَأَعْلَمُ مَا تُبْدُونَ وَمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْتُمُونَ 33
(33) Na hapo, Mwenyezi Mungu Mtukufu akasema “Ewe Adam! Waambie majina yavyo.” Yani majina ya vile vilivyotajwa, ambavyo Mwenyezi Mungu aliviweka mbele ya Malaika; nao wakashindwa kuvitaja majina. “Basi alipowaambia majina yake,” ukawabainikia Malaika ubora wa Adam juu yao, na hekima na elimu ya Al-Bari (Muumbaji) katika kumteua huyu khalifa. “Alisema: Sikukwambieni kwamba Mimi ninajua siri za mbinguni na za duniani.” Nayo (ghaibu) ni kila kilichofichikana kwetu; tukawa hatukioni. Na ikiwa (Yeye Mwenyezi Mungu) anajua ghaibu; basi ya dhahiri yanastahiki zaidi (yeye kuyajua). “Na ninayajua mnayoyadhihirisha,” yani mnayoweka wazi; “na mliyokuwa mnayaficha.”
