بحر العلومThis is the Arabic text of a classical tafsīr as the Quranic Universal Library (QUL, by Tarteel) has it, taken through the open copy of QUL’s data that spa5k/tafsir_api keeps. QUL does not say which printed edition it follows and states no licence for the texts, so the right to show them is not verified. Nobody has compared it with a printed book or a manuscript, and no scholar has reviewed it. Each passage stands beside the verses it comments on, which are the Qur’ān text of Tanzil, shown as it is there. Where the text carries a note of an editor’s, in double brackets, it is shown as it stands. There is no translation yet.

هُنَالِكَ دَعَا زَكَرِيَّا رَبَّهُۥ ۖ قَالَ رَبِّ هَبْ لِى مِن لَّدُنكَ ذُرِّيَّةً طَيِّبَةً ۖ إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ ٱلدُّعَآءِ 38
هُنالِكَ دَعا زَكَرِيَّا رَبَّهُ يقول عند ذلك طمع في الولد، وكان آيساً من ذلك، وكان مفاتيح بيت القربان عند آبائه، وقد صار ذلك بيده، وكان يخشى أن يخرج من أهل بيته إذا مات. فقال عند ذلك: إن الله قادر على أن يأتيها برزق الشتاء في الصيف، وبرزق الصيف في الشتاء، فهو قادر أن يرزق لي الولد بعد الكبر فذلك قوله تعالى: هُنالِكَ دَعا زَكَرِيَّا رَبَّهُ قالَ رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِنْ لَدُنْكَ أي من عندك ذُرِّيَّةً طَيِّبَةً أي من عندك تقية مهذبة. ويقال:
مستوي الخلق. ويقال: مسلمة مطيعة. ويقال: تقية إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ الدُّعاءِ أي مجيب له.
