QUL does not say which printed edition it follows and states no licence for the texts, so the right to show them is not verified. Nobody has compared it with a printed book or a manuscript, and no scholar has reviewed it. Each passage stands beside the verses it comments on, which are the Qur’ān text of Tanzil, shown as it is there. Where the text carries a note of an editor’s, in double brackets, it is shown as it stands. There is no translation yet.

وَٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ءَالِهَةً لِّيَكُونُوا۟ لَهُمْ عِزًّا 81 كَلَّا ۚ سَيَكْفُرُونَ بِعِبَادَتِهِمْ وَيَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضِدًّا 82
قوله عز وجل: وَاتَّخَذُوا مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ آلِهَةً لِيَكُونُوا لَهُمْ عِزًّا يعني: منعة في الآخرة كَلَّا رد عليهم، أي: لا يكون لهم منعة، وتم الكلام. ثم قال: سَيَكْفُرُونَ بِعِبادَتِهِمْ يعني: الآلهة يجحدون عبادتهم وَيَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضِدًّا يعني: الآلهة تكون عوناً عليهم في العذاب، ويقال: تكون عدواً لهم في الآخرة، ومن هذا قال النبي ﷺ: «مَنْ طَلَبَ رِضَا المَخْلُوقِ فِي مَعْصِيَةِ الخَالِقِ عَادَ الحامد له ذامّا» كما أن المشركين طلبوا العز من الآلهة فصارت الآلهة عوناً عليهم في العذاب، فوجدوا ضد ما طلبوا منه.
