QUL does not say which printed edition it follows and states no licence for the texts, so the right to show them is not verified. Nobody has compared it with a printed book or a manuscript, and no scholar has reviewed it. Each passage stands beside the verses it comments on, which are the Qur’ān text of Tanzil, shown as it is there. Where the text carries a note of an editor’s, in double brackets, it is shown as it stands. There is no translation yet.

وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ إِسْمَـٰعِيلَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ صَادِقَ ٱلْوَعْدِ وَكَانَ رَسُولًا نَّبِيًّا 54 وَكَانَ يَأْمُرُ أَهْلَهُۥ بِٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَٱلزَّكَوٰةِ وَكَانَ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦ مَرْضِيًّا 55
قوله تعالى: وَاذْكُرْ فِي الْكِتابِ إِسْماعِيلَ، يعني: اذكر في القرآن خبر إسماعيل. إِنَّهُ كانَ صادِقَ الْوَعْدِ، إذا وعد أنجز. قال مقاتل: إن إسماعيل وعد رجلاً أنْ ينتظره، فقام مكانه ثلاثة أيام للميعاد، حتى رجع الرجل إليه. وقال في رواية الكلبي: كان ميعادُه الذي وعد فيه صاحبه انتظره حتى حال الحول، وقال مجاهد: إِنَّهُ كانَ صادِقَ الْوَعْدِ يعني: لم يعد شيئاً إلا وفى به. وَكانَ رَسُولًا نَبِيًّا، يعني: كانَ رَسُولًا إلى قومه، نَبِيًّا يُخبر عن الله عز وجل. وَكانَ يَأْمُرُ أَهْلَهُ، يعني: أهل دينه وقومه بِالصَّلاةِ وَالزَّكاةِ، يعني: بإتمام الصلاة وإيتاء الزكاة. وَكانَ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِ مَرْضِيًّا، يعني: صالحاً ذكياً.
