QUL does not say which printed edition it follows and states no licence for the texts, so the right to show them is not verified. Nobody has compared it with a printed book or a manuscript, and no scholar has reviewed it. Each passage stands beside the verses it comments on, which are the Qur’ān text of Tanzil, shown as it is there. Where the text carries a note of an editor’s, in double brackets, it is shown as it stands. There is no translation yet.

وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِن صَلْصَـٰلٍ مِّنْ حَمَإٍ مَّسْنُونٍ 26 وَٱلْجَآنَّ خَلَقْنَـٰهُ مِن قَبْلُ مِن نَّارِ ٱلسَّمُومِ 27
قوله عز وجل: وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنْسانَ أي: آدم مِنْ صَلْصالٍ أي: من طين يتصلصل إذا مشيت عليه يتقلقل، وإذا تركته يتفلّق، مِنْ حَمَإٍ مَسْنُونٍ أي: من طين أسود منتن. وقال الأخفش: أي من طين مصبوب. ويقال: مَسْنُونٍ أي: متغير الرائحة كقوله لَمْ يَتَسَنَّهْ [البقرة: 259] . ويقال: الذي أتت عليه السنون. وقال القتبي: الصلصال الطين اليابس الذي لم تصبه نار، إذا ضربته صوّت، وإذا مسته النار فهو فخار. والمسنون: المتغير الرائحة، والحمأ: جمع حمئة وهو الطين المتغير وَالْجَانَّ خَلَقْناهُ مِنْ قَبْلُ آدم مِنْ نارِ السَّمُومِ وهي نار لا دخان لها، وهم في الأرض مع إبليس سكان الأرض.
