QUL does not say which printed edition it follows and states no licence for the texts, so the right to show them is not verified. Nobody has compared it with a printed book or a manuscript, and no scholar has reviewed it. Each passage stands beside the verses it comments on, which are the Qur’ān text of Tanzil, shown as it is there. Where the text carries a note of an editor’s, in double brackets, it is shown as it stands. There is no translation yet.

وَلَقَدْ أَهْلَكْنَا ٱلْقُرُونَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ لَمَّا ظَلَمُوا۟ ۙ وَجَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ لِيُؤْمِنُوا۟ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ 13
قوله تعالى: وَلَقَدْ أَهْلَكْنَا الْقُرُونَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ لَمَّا ظَلَمُوا، يعني: أهلكناهم بالعذاب حين كذبوا الرسل أقاموا على كفرهم، خوَّف أهل مكة بمثل عذاب الأمم الخالية لكيلا يكذبوا محمداً ﷺ. وَجاءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُمْ بِالْبَيِّناتِ، يعني: بالآيات بالأمر والنهي. وَما كانُوا لِيُؤْمِنُوا، يعني: لم يصدقوا الرسل ولم يرغبوا في الإيمان. ويقال: وما كانوا ليصدقوا بنزول العذاب بما كذبوا من قبل يوم الميثاق. كَذلِكَ نَجْزِي، يعني: نعاقب الْقَوْمَ الْمُجْرِمِينَ، يعني: الكافرين.
