At-Tawba
تيسير الكريم الرحمنThis is the Arabic text of a classical tafsīr as the Quranic Universal Library (QUL, by Tarteel) has it, taken through the open copy of QUL’s data that spa5k/tafsir_api keeps. QUL does not say which printed edition it follows and states no licence for the texts, so the right to show them is not verified. Nobody has compared it with a printed book or a manuscript, and no scholar has reviewed it. Each passage stands beside the verses it comments on, which are the Qur’ān text of Tanzil, shown as it is there. Where the text carries a note of an editor’s, in double brackets, it is shown as it stands. There is no translation yet.

وَلَا تُعْجِبْكَ أَمْوَٰلُهُمْ وَأَوْلَـٰدُهُمْ ۚ إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ أَن يُعَذِّبَهُم بِهَا فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَتَزْهَقَ أَنفُسُهُمْ وَهُمْ كَـٰفِرُونَ 85
{85} أي: لا تغترَّ بما أعطاهم الله في الدُّنيا من الأموال والأولاد؛ فليس ذلك لكرامتهم عليه، وإنَّما ذلك إهانة منه لهم. {يريد الله أن يعذِّبهم بها في الدنيا}: فيتعبون في تحصيلها، ويخافون من زوالها، ولا يتهنَّون بها، بل لا يزالون يعانون الشدائد والمشاقَّ فيها، وتُلهيهم عن الله والدار الآخرة، حتى ينتقلوا من الدنيا، {وتزهقَ أنفسُهم وهم كافرون}: قد سَلَبَهم حبُّها عن كلِّ شيء، فماتوا وقلوبهم بها متعلِّقة وأفئدتهم عليها متحرِّقة.
