تيسير الكريم الرحمنThis is the Arabic text of a classical tafsīr as the Quranic Universal Library (QUL, by Tarteel) has it, taken through the open copy of QUL’s data that spa5k/tafsir_api keeps. QUL does not say which printed edition it follows and states no licence for the texts, so the right to show them is not verified. Nobody has compared it with a printed book or a manuscript, and no scholar has reviewed it. Each passage stands beside the verses it comments on, which are the Qur’ān text of Tanzil, shown as it is there. Where the text carries a note of an editor’s, in double brackets, it is shown as it stands. There is no translation yet.

وَفِى ثَمُودَ إِذْ قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَمَتَّعُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ 43 فَعَتَوْا۟ عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّـٰعِقَةُ وَهُمْ يَنظُرُونَ 44 فَمَا ٱسْتَطَـٰعُوا۟ مِن قِيَامٍ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُنتَصِرِينَ 45
{43} أي: {وفي ثمودَ}: آيةٌ عظيمةٌ حين أرسل الله إليهم صالحاً عليه السلام، فكذَّبوه وعاندوه، وبعث الله له الناقة آيةً مبصرةً، فلم يزدْهم ذلك إلاَّ عتُوًّا ونفوراً، {قيل لهم تمتَّعوا حتى حينٍ}.
{44}{فعَتَوۡا عن أمرِ ربِّهم فأخَذَتۡهُمُ الصَّاعقةُ}؛ أي: الصيحة العظيمة المهلكة، {وهم ينظرونَ}: إلى عقوبتهم بأعينهم.
{45}{فما استَطاعوا من قيامٍ}: ينجون به من العذاب، {وما كانوا منتصِرينَ}: لأنفسهم.
