تيسير الكريم الرحمنThis is the Arabic text of a classical tafsīr as the Quranic Universal Library (QUL, by Tarteel) has it, taken through the open copy of QUL’s data that spa5k/tafsir_api keeps. QUL does not say which printed edition it follows and states no licence for the texts, so the right to show them is not verified. Nobody has compared it with a printed book or a manuscript, and no scholar has reviewed it. Each passage stands beside the verses it comments on, which are the Qur’ān text of Tanzil, shown as it is there. Where the text carries a note of an editor’s, in double brackets, it is shown as it stands. There is no translation yet.

وَلَن تَرْضَىٰ عَنكَ ٱلْيَهُودُ وَلَا ٱلنَّصَـٰرَىٰ حَتَّىٰ تَتَّبِعَ مِلَّتَهُمْ ۗ قُلْ إِنَّ هُدَى ٱللَّهِ هُوَ ٱلْهُدَىٰ ۗ وَلَئِنِ ٱتَّبَعْتَ أَهْوَآءَهُم بَعْدَ ٱلَّذِى جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ ۙ مَا لَكَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ مِن وَلِىٍّ وَلَا نَصِيرٍ 120
{120} يخبر تعالى رسوله أنه لا يرضى منه اليهود ولا النصارى إلا
باتباعه دينهم؛ لأنهم دعاة إلى الدين الذي هم عليه يزعمون أنه الهدى، فقل لهم:{إن هدى الله}؛ الذي أرسلت به {هو الهدى}؛ وأما ما أنتم عليه فهو الهوى بدليل قوله:{ولئن اتبعت أهواءهم بعد الذي جاءك من العلم ما لك من الله من ولي ولا نصير}؛
فهذا فيه النهي العظيم عن اتباع أهواء اليهود والنصارى والتشبه بهم بما يختص به دينهم.
والخطاب وإن كان لرسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم -، فإن أمته داخلة في ذلك؛ لأن الاعتبار بعموم
المعنى لا بخصوص المخاطب، كما أن العبرة بعموم اللفظ لا بخصوص السبب.
ثم قال:
