This is a translation of Tafsīr as-Saʿdī as IslamHouse.com publishes it at saadi.islamenc.com, read from that site’s pages. فَهَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا ٱلسَّاعَةَ أَن تَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةً ۖ فَقَدْ جَآءَ أَشْرَاطُهَا ۚ فَأَنَّىٰ لَهُمْ إِذَا جَآءَتْهُمْ ذِكْرَىٰهُمْ 18
(18) Неужели неверующие не думают о приближении Судного часа, который настиг- нет их внезапно? Что мешает им задуматься о том страшном дне, приметы кото- рого уже наступили? Они непременно опомнятся, но раскаяние не принесет им никакой пользы, когда истечет его последний срок. У них не будет возможности вернуться назад, потому что в этой жизни у них было достаточно времени для то- го, чтобы одуматься, тем более что к ним приходил увещеватель. Такими словами Господь призывает всех нас готовиться к Последней жизни до того, как смерть внезапно настигнет каждого из нас. И именно смерть станет для каждого из нас началом Судного дня.
