Al-Baqara
This is a translation of Tafsīr as-Saʿdī as IslamHouse.com publishes it at saadi.islamenc.com, read from that site’s pages. وَإِذِ ٱسْتَسْقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِۦ فَقُلْنَا ٱضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَ ٱلْحَجَرَ ۖ فَٱنفَجَرَتْ مِنْهُ ٱثْنَتَا عَشْرَةَ عَيْنًا ۖ قَدْ عَلِمَ كُلُّ أُنَاسٍ مَّشْرَبَهُمْ ۖ كُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ مِن رِّزْقِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ 60
(60) Муса попросил Аллаха напоить его народ, и тогда Аллах велел ему ударить посохом по камню. Это мог быть либо какой-либо определенный камень, либо любой из камней. Стоило ему ударить посохом по камню, как из него забилось двенадцать ключей. Израильский народ состоял из двенадцати племен, и каждое племя узнало, откуда ему полагается пить воду. Они не толпились возле воды и могли спокойно утолять жажду. Аллах позволил им пить воду и питаться благами, которые они получили без всякого труда, но им было запрещено распространять на земле нечестие.
