This is a translation of Tafsīr as-Saʿdī as IslamHouse.com publishes it at saadi.islamenc.com, read from that site’s pages. The site does not say who translated it or which printed edition it follows, and states no terms for taking its text, so the right to show it is not verified. Nobody has compared it with a printed book, and no scholar has reviewed it. Each passage stands beside the verses it comments on, which are the Qur’ān text of Tanzil, shown as it is there; a verse the site gives no commentary of its own stands with the passage before it, and the index names each such verse. قَالَ أَوْسَطُهُمْ أَلَمْ أَقُل لَّكُمْ لَوْلَا تُسَبِّحُونَ 28
(28) Maka ﴾ قَالَ أَوۡسَطُهُمۡ ﴿ "berkatalah seorang yang paling baik pi-kirannya di antara mereka," yaitu orang yang paling lurus dan baik, ﴾ أَلَمۡ أَقُل لَّكُمۡ لَوۡلَا تُسَبِّحُونَ ﴿ "Bukankah aku telah mengatakan kepadamu, hendaklah kamu bertasbih (kepada Rabbmu)," yaitu memahasucikan Allah سبحانه وتعالى dari sesuatu yang tidak layak bagiNya, di antaranya adalah kalian mengira bahwa kemampuan kalian itu berdiri sendiri. Andai kalian mengecualikan dan mengatakan, "Insya Allah," dan kalian menem-patkan kehendak kalian mengikuti kehendakNya, tentu hal ini tidak akan terjadi.
