Al-Jaathiya
This is a translation of Tafsīr as-Saʿdī as IslamHouse.com publishes it at saadi.islamenc.com, read from that site’s pages. وَإِذَا قِيلَ إِنَّ وَعْدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقٌّ وَٱلسَّاعَةُ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهَا قُلْتُم مَّا نَدْرِى مَا ٱلسَّاعَةُ إِن نَّظُنُّ إِلَّا ظَنًّا وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُسْتَيْقِنِينَ 32
(32) Mereka juga dicela melalui Firman Allah سبحانه وتعالى, ﴾ وَإِذَا قِيلَ إِنَّ وَعۡدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقّٞ وَٱلسَّاعَةُ لَا رَيۡبَ فِيهَا قُلۡتُم ﴿ "Dan apabila dikatakan (kepadamu), 'Sesungguh-nya janji Allah itu adalah benar dan hari berbangkit itu tidak ada keraguan padanya,' niscaya kamu menjawab'," seraya memungkiri hal itu, ﴾ مَّا نَدۡرِي مَا ٱلسَّاعَةُ إِن نَّظُنُّ إِلَّا ظَنّٗا وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمُسۡتَيۡقِنِينَ ﴿ "Kami tidak tahu apakah Hari Kiamat itu, kami sekali-kali tidak lain hanyalah menduga-duga saja dan kami sekali-kali tidak meyakini(nya)." Inilah kondisi mereka di dalam dunia serta pengingkaran mereka terhadap hari kebangkitan serta mereka pun membantah perkataan rasul yang menjelaskan Hari Akhir tersebut.
