Al-Anbiyaa
This is a translation of Tafsīr as-Saʿdī as IslamHouse.com publishes it at saadi.islamenc.com, read from that site’s pages. لَوْ يَعْلَمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ حِينَ لَا يَكُفُّونَ عَن وُجُوهِهِمُ ٱلنَّارَ وَلَا عَن ظُهُورِهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ 39
(39) Sekiranya ﴾ يَعۡلَمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ ﴿ "orang-orang kafir itu mengeta-hui," keadaan buruk mereka ﴾ حِينَ لَا يَكُفُّونَ عَن وُجُوهِهِمُ ٱلنَّارَ وَلَا عَن ظُهُورِهِمۡ ﴿ "waktu (di mana) mereka tak mampu untuk mengelakkan api neraka dari muka mereka dan (tidak pula) dari punggung mereka," pasalnya, (pada waktu itu), neraka telah mengitari mereka dari semua sisi, dan me-nyelubungi mereka dari semua tempat, ﴾ وَلَا هُمۡ يُنصَرُونَ 39 ﴿ "sedang mereka tidak mendapat pertolongan (tentulah mereka tiada meminta di-segerakan)," maksudnya tidak ada orang lain yang (dapat) menolong mereka. Mereka tidak ditolong dan tidak pula dapat menolong diri mereka sendiri.
