QUL does not say which printed edition it follows and states no licence for the texts, so the right to show them is not verified. Nobody has compared it with a printed book or a manuscript, and no scholar has reviewed it. Each passage stands beside the verses it comments on, which are the Qur’ān text of Tanzil, shown as it is there. Where the text carries a note of an editor’s, in double brackets, it is shown as it stands. There is no translation yet.

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ أَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَسَلَكَهُۥ يَنَـٰبِيعَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ثُمَّ يُخْرِجُ بِهِۦ زَرْعًا مُّخْتَلِفًا أَلْوَٰنُهُۥ ثُمَّ يَهِيجُ فَتَرَىٰهُ مُصْفَرًّا ثُمَّ يَجْعَلُهُۥ حُطَـٰمًا ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَذِكْرَىٰ لِأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَلْبَـٰبِ 21
قَوْلُهُ تَعالى: ﴿أنْزَلَ مِنَ السَّماءِ ماءً﴾ قالَ الشَّعْبِيُّ: كَلَّ ما في الأرْضِ فَمِنَ السَّماءِ يَنْزِلُ ﴿فَسَلَكَهُ يَنابِيعَ﴾ قالَ ابْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ: أيْ: أدْخَلَهُ فَجَعَلَهُ يَنابِيعَ، أيْ: عُيُونًا تَنْبُعُ، ﴿ثُمَّ يَهِيجُ﴾ أيْ: يَيْبَسُ. قالَ الأصْمَعِيُّ: يُقالُ لِلثَّبْتِ إذا تَمَّ جَفافُهُ: قَدْ هاجَ يَهِيجُ هَيْجًا.
فَأمّا الحُطامُ، فَقالَ أبُو عُبَيْدَةَ: هو ما يَبِسَ فُتُحاتٍ مِنَ النَّباتِ، ومَثَلُهُ الرُّفاتُ. قالَ مُقاتِلٌ: هَذا مَثَلٌ ضَرَبَ الدُّنْيا، بَيْنا تَرى النَّبْتَ أخْضَرَ، إذْ تَغَيَّرَ فَيَبِسَ ثُمَّ هَلَكَ،وَكَذَلِكَ الدُّنْيا وزِينَتُها. وقالَ غَيْرُهُ: هَذا البَيانُ لِلدَّلالَةِ عَلى قُدْرَةِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وجَلَّ.
