QUL does not say which printed edition it follows and states no licence for the texts, so the right to show them is not verified. Nobody has compared it with a printed book or a manuscript, and no scholar has reviewed it. Each passage stands beside the verses it comments on, which are the Qur’ān text of Tanzil, shown as it is there. Where the text carries a note of an editor’s, in double brackets, it is shown as it stands. There is no translation yet.

قَالُوٓا۟ أَنُؤْمِنُ لَكَ وَٱتَّبَعَكَ ٱلْأَرْذَلُونَ 111
﴿قالُوا أنُؤْمِنُ لَكَ واتَّبَعَكَ الأرْذَلُونَ﴾ أيِ: الأقَلُّونَ جاهًا ومالًا جَمْعُ الأرْذَلِ عَلى الصِّحَّةِ، فَإنَّهُ بِالغَلَبَةِ صارَ جارِيًا مَجْرى الِاسْمِ (p-255)
كالأكْبَرِ والأكابِرِ، وقِيلَ: جَمْعُ أرْذُلٍ جَمْعُ رَذْلٍ كَأكالِبَ وأكْلُبٍ وكَلْبٍ. وقُرِئَ: "وَأتْباعُكَ" وهو جَمْعُ تابِعٍ كَشاهِدٍ وأشْهادٍ، أوْ جَمْعُ تَبَعٍ كَبَطَلٍ وأبْطالٍ، يَعْنُونَ أنَّهُ لا عِبْرَةَ بِاتِّباعِهِمْ لَكَ إذْ لَيْسَ لَهم رَزانَةُ عَقْلٍ ولا إصابَةُ رَأْيٍ وقَدْ كانَ ذَلِكَ مِنهم في بادِئِ الرَّأْيِ كَما ذُكِرَ في مَوْضِعٍ آخَرَ، وهَذا مِن كَمالِ سَخافَةِ عُقُولِهِمْ وقَصْرِهِمْ أنْظارَهم عَلى حُطامِ الدُّنْيا وكَوْنِ الأشْرافِ عِنْدَهم مَن هو أكْثَرُ مِنها حَظًّا والأرْذَلُ مَن حُرِمَها، وجَهْلِهِمْ بِأنَّها لا تَزِنُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ جَناحَ بَعُوضَةٍ، وأنَّ النَّعِيمَ هو نَعِيمُ الآخِرَةِ، والأشْرَفُ مَن فازَ بِهِ والأرْذَلُ مَن حُرِمَهُ.
