حدثنا علي بن حجر قال: حدثنا علي بن مسهر، عن هشام بن عروة، عن أبيه، عن عائشة قالت: «إنما كان فراش رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم الذي ينام عليه من أدم حشوه ليف»
حدثنا أبو الخطاب زياد بن يحيى البصري قال: حدثنا عبد الله بن ميمون قال: حدثنا جعفر بن محمد، عن أبيه قال: سئلت عائشة، ما كان فراش رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في بيتك؟ قالت: «من أدم حشوه من ليف»
وسئلت حفصة، ما كان فراش رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في بيتك؟ قالت: مسحا نثنيه ثنيتين فينام عليه، فلما كان ذات ليلة قلت: لو ثنيته أربع ثنيات لكان أوطأ له فثنيناه له بأربع ثنيات، فلما أصبح قال: «ما فرشتم لي الليلة» قالت: قلنا: هو فراشك إلا أنا ثنيناه بأربع ثنيات، قلنا: هو أوطأ لك قال: «ردوه لحالته الأولى، فإنه منعتني وطاءته صلاتي الليلة»
This is the Arabic text of Imām at-Tirmidhī’s ash-Shamāʾil al-Muḥammadiyyah as the OpenITI corpus has it, from Shamela’s copy of the edition of Sayyid ibn ʿAbbās al-Jalīmī (Makkah, 1413 AH), with the chains of transmission. Nobody has compared it with the printed book or a manuscript, and no scholar has reviewed it. The edition’s introductions and notes are not in it. The edition numbers 417 narrations; in 11 places the corpus’s file has lost the heading that carries the number, and the narration stands without one, as the file has it. A page of the printed edition is marked only where it begins inside a narration. There is no translation yet.
